Listen to the magic of a Brass Band this year at these venues

Four members of the Harlaxton RSL Brass Band were awarded Queensland Band Association medals for service to the brass band movement in Queensland.

Greg Zische, principal euphonium and the band's librarian was presented with the QBA long service medallion

David Kemp, who is drum major and percussionist was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.

 Mike Gowdie, who plays Eb bass and is the band president, was awarded the long service medallion and the 50  year continuous service medal.

 Bill Hills, deputy drum major & secretary, was awarded both the distinguished service medal and NBC medal.

They were presented with their awards by Toowoomba Regional Council deputy mayor Carol Taylor, who represented band patron, Paul Antonio, mayor of Toowoomba Regional Council. Carol's co-presenter was Harlaxton RSL sub branch treasurer, Mark Ellem.

The awards were presented during the Carnival of Flowers "Music in the Park" concert by the band, at Laurel Bank Park on September 25, 2016.
